Position Details:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Design, implement, integrate, secure, performance tune, and maintain Oracle and/or SQL Server database and data warehouse systems operating in a multi-tier Unix, Linux and/or MS Windows server environment.
• Provide integration assistance with database/data warehouse applications, as well as database/data warehouse connectivity with middleware components and interfaces.
• Manage data as a valuable corporate asset by ensuring company policy compliance for Database and Information technical control requirements (e.g., Information Protection, Sarbanes-Oxley, etc.).
• Stay current on corporate data management technology standards, best practices, and SOX / Information Protection technical controls in order to contribute to team mission of developing, documenting, and communicating corporate data management technology standards and best practices.
• Develop and maintain documentation and training materials for both internal team use and Chevron-wide knowledge sharing purposes.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or other related courses
• Ideal candidate must have 3 or more years of recent IT database administration technology related experience
• Proficient in the following areas: SQL Server and/or Oracle DBA including database architecture, performance analysis & tuning, security, capacity planning, backup & recovery solutions, high-availability solutions, installation and upgrades, DB infrastructure design and standards, application database administration, and troubleshooting
• SQL Server and/or Oracle SQL coding and stored procedure programming (SQL, PL/SQL, TSQL, XML).
• UNIX, Linux, and/or MS Windows operating systems experience including shell scripting.
• Problem Solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze wide range of problems, assess risks/benefits of alternatives, develop and implement creative solutions using multiple technologies while adhering to change control methodology to meet business objectives.
