Hollywood movie star Zac Efron arrived in the Philippines today, September 26, from Los Angeles, California.
The 24-year-old actor arrived mid-morning and was discreetly transferred from a commercial flight to a private plane headed to Legazpi City, an hour away by flight south of Manila.
Zac flew in with his father David Efron, manager Jason Barrett, and Hollywood photographer Darren Tieste for a brief holiday at Misibis Bay Resorts as personal guests of Bicolano tycoon Zaldy Co.
Zac is scheduled to meet his Filipino fans on September 29, 2012 at the Mall of Asia Arena for the Penshoppe Fan Conference 2012.
In a press release sent to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) by PR Asia Worldwide Communications Inc., Zac expressed his excitement as he visits the Philippines for the first time.
He said, “Well, first of all, this trip is an amazing, amazing excuse to go to the Philippines.
“I have always wanted to visit the Philippines.
“My dad who has been to your country several times has been telling me great stories about it.”
From the phenomenal Disney Channel movie High School Musical, Zac has crossed over to light romantic comedies in 17 Again (2009), New Year’s Eve (2011), to more dramatic and mature roles like Charlie St. Cloud (2010) and The Lucky One (2012).
More recently, he starred alongside heavyweights Matthew McConaughey, John Cusack, and Nicole Kidman in the period drama The Paperboy; and he was recently at the Toronto International Film Festival for the film At Any Price with Dennis Quaid.
