TV5’s Enchanted Garden leads in Regional Media Markets

 


TV5’s environment-focused and acclaimed primetime fantasy series Enchanted Garden leads GMA's primetime drama series in the country's regional media markets such as Dagupan, Cebu, Davao, Cagayan de Oro and General Santos City in the TV ratings (September 16 to November 30) based on Nielsen Media Research’s Metro City TV Audience Measurement (MCTAM).
 
In Mindanao, home to 4.4 million viewers, Enchanted Garden recorded 5.7 percent AMR (17.8 percent audience share)—toppling all GMA primetime programs, including Aso ni San Roque, One True Love, 24 Oras, Temptation Of Wife, Luna Blanca, Moon Embracing the Sun, Coffee Prince, Paroa: Ang Kuwento ni Mariposa, Angel’s Temptation and Inside Protege. TV5’s overall primetime performance of 15.7 percent audience share in the area placed GMA third among TV networks with 14.7 percent.
 
In particular for Cagayan de Oro, Enchanted Garden’s 6.9 percent AMR (20.9 percent audience share) ranked higher than ABS-CBN’s "Kahit Puso'y Masugatan" and all GMA primetime programs. TV5’s top-rating variety show Wil Time Bigtime ranked 8th in the overall program rankings while Enchanted Garden placed 9th. However, no GMA program made it to the Top 10 primetime rankings for the same period. TV5 further enjoyed a 5-point lead compared with GMA in the overall primetime ratings as it scored 18 percent audience share against GMA’s 12.6 percent.
 
Meanwhile, Enchanted Garden placed higher than all GMA primetime programs in Metro Davao with 5.3 percent AMR (18.5 percent audience share).

TV5 took a risk in presenting a one-of-a-kind eco-fantasya against established news programs from other networks. Moreover, Enchanted Garden’s performance among drama formats tells us that we made the right choice. Moreover, Enchanted Garden reigned supreme in General Santos City, with 13 percent AMR (39.7 percent audience share) leaving behind three ABS-CBN programs (A Beautiful Affair, Lorenzo's Time and Kahit Puso'y Masugatan). Two other Kapatid programs (Wil Time Bigtime, 7th and The Amazing Race Philippines, 10th) also made it to the Top 10 primetime rankings. TV5’s primetime gains left GMA with only the 12th to 25th positions among the top programs. Overall, TV5’s 29.8 percent audience share in the primetime ratings gave it a wide 12-point lead from GMA’s 17.4 percent audience share.
 
Likewise, in Metro Dagupan, Enchanted Garden’s strong 7.6 percent AMR (25.9 percent audience share) beat eight GMA primetime programs in the Top 20 program rankings.
 
Enchanted Garden also posted 6.2 percent AMR (23.2 percent audience share) in the same period in Metro Cebu—higher than all GMA primetime series and even beating its primetime newscast program, 24 Oras.
